About Me

Anxiety & Neurodiversity

Neuro-Diversity and the link with anxiety and being over-whelmed

Are you neuro-diverse and at times feeling extreme;y anxious ?

Do you struggle with persistent worrying or constantly have the sense of being overwhelmed?

My specialised counselling is designed to help neuro-diverse individuals manage anxiety and reclaim a sense of calm and control.

A Safe, Confidential Space for Neuro-diversity & Anxiety

In our sessions, we focus on your unique way of experiencing the world. I offer a secure, empathetic, and confidential environment where you can share your thoughts at your own pace. Whether you need to vent, reflect, or simply sit in silence, this is your time and space.

Before I became a counsellor It became apparent to me that a lot of people I was working with had neuro-diverse traits, such as Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, ADHD and Autism. I took up the challenge to work towards becoming a Level 5 Specialist Teacher in Dyslexia to allow me to support people better, which then started the journey of becoming a counsellor specialising in this area.

I use a variety of ways, sometimes it could be by just listening and exploring feelings that my client brings up. Other times we may use creative tools to do this, this can be colours, shapes, patterns or the use of clay.

I also use other techniques such as somatic exercises, mindfulness and strategies to support the client in everyday things. We discuss what overwhelms them, what triggers they have and how they can move forward in overcoming them.

Why Therapy?

My goal is to foster a relationship in which mutual respect and trust are created by providing a setting where you feel comfortable and unjudged. Sharing your thoughts and feelings really helps me connect with you on a deeper level and shows that I genuinely care about how you’re doing.

My ability to emotionally connect with you and demonstrate my genuine concern for your well-being will depend on how clearly, I understand you. I will listen when you talk, creating a safe space for you to share your feelings.

I’m here to help clients identify their challenges, develop practical plans and solutions, and encourage them to take steps towards their goals and resolutions.

Sessions and fees

All sessions are 50 minutes

Face to Face and Zoom Sessions

Individual £50.00

Couples £75.00

What do I do next?

Therapy needs to have a good therapeutic relationship to allow the therapeutic process to work. This is why I suggest that we have a free 15-minute Zoom call to see how we feel about working with each other. If then we want to proceed, I will send you my contract that you can look over and have questions answered and returned before our first session. In our first session we will set goals and then we review them at regular intervals together.

My qualifications

Why is your practice called Piece Together?

When researching what name to call my practice, I considered lots of different names, but on reflecting back, I looked at how I work, and it then came to me that the client and I explore what in the past has caused problems in the present and how we can change this to allow a better future for the client. I then realised I was placing bits of a puzzle together, so there it was Piece Together Counselling was born!
